78 Michigan Parks: Bewabic State Park #9

Stop 13. [Begin day 3]

Bewabic State Park was just minutes away from Iron River, so we hadn't been in the car long when we unloaded for our first park of the day! 

This was a very cool wall!

And apparently Site 9 or a different tour!

This park had a lovely lawn, rocky beach, and lots of wildlife.  Sadly, overnight, the wildfires in Canada increased in ferocity and span, covering the rest of our trip in a smoky haze.

William drew the short straw from the long sleeve shirt stack and ended up with a ladies shirt for day 3 of our trip.  He was a good sport about it though.

Emily's sandals made a lovely pattern in the sand!

The light made these pink rocks look like they were glowing!  The wet area was darker, making the top 'shine.'

The geese left a wide berth for our party. They did come ashore again, but far from  us!

We didn't swim, or do much at this park, just enjoyed the placid water and warm temperatures.

Emily was once again behind the wheel as we drove to the next park.  Since we had missed out on two, I updated my 'must do' park list to include the park at the 'bottom' of the UP, to balance Fort Wilkins.

We skirted along the border of Wisconsin, and saw this cool miniature Statue of Liberty out in the boondocks!

I also saw my first ever wild Bald Eagle!!! He was just hanging out in a dead tree, looking around, and we'd already passed him by the time had registered what I'd seen!  Still a fun memory to have, even without a picture.
