Father's Day 2025

For Father's Day this year, Billy wanted to go out to Texas Roadhouse.  Emily was away at a sleepover, and the twins went to church with Avia, so we had to wait for an early dinner to go.  It happened to fall on the day after Grace's yard sale, so we packed up all the remaining items from the curb to drop off at the thrift store en route.

The VOA and Texas Roadhouse are conveniently placed, so after we dropped off the donation, we headed to the restaurant.  There were people lined up in the parking lot at 415!!!

Luckily, there is an older, less popular, branch in Holt, so we made the 15-minute drive, and were able to wait inside for a table, for like 10 minutes!

Billy ordered his own meal, and the rest of us split entrees, and we still left with three boxes in our doggy-bag*!

Someone chalked up the walk for a photo op!

Billy's big gift from us was a digital frame for his office.  It was on display for a couple of days leading up to father's day, and it was an upgrade from my frame**.    He took it into the office the next day!  I had ample time to snap a picture, and never did!

His other gift was some fancy dice for our upcoming D&D game with the Cornishes.  Those I managed a picture of. lol.

The kids all made him cards, but they opened them while I was out loading the car, so I didn't get a picture of him opening their gifts this year either! = (

Despite the missing photos, I think Billy had a nice day being celebrated.  We sure do love and appreciate him!  Happy Father's Day to all the awesome dads out there!

*does anyone else call it a doggy bag?  just me?  I feel like when I was a kid one of the restaurants we patronized had a little blue and white doggy printed on their bag!  Billy said he'd never heard of it.  Is it just a Waxahachie thing?

**comparison is absolutely the thief of joy!  But I will be getting a frame that will allow you to swipe back to the previous picture when mine dies!

Father's Day

For Father's Day this year Billy wanted to go to BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse in East Lansing.  We made it a date, but when we returned, he opened all of his gift and cards from the kids.

His big gift was a Frankenstein water tower for his Halloween village that we purchased on our Frankenmuth adventure (we tried our best to keep it secret, but I'm unsure of our success, he was pleased just the same.)

I think he had a pretty good day!  We sure do love him <3
