On the day of William's Orthodontic evaluation, Billy was laid off. I was able to talk him into comnig along for the ride, since his obligations for the afternoon were cancelled. The appointment was at 1pm, so after picking William up from school, we headed to Ann Arbor.
This was his first meeting with this resident, and she seemed young and excited (which is really good to have in a doctor!) She wrote up a plan, and we will head back in November for step #2.
After the appointment, we took our lunch over to Palmer Commons and ate before hitting the road.
Our destination was Bald Mountain State Recreation Area! Google took us almost all the way down to downtown Detroit before sending us north, I guess there was construction slowing down other routes?
Sadly, when we arrived, the beach area was closed. = ( We had to park in a neighborhood and walk back to the sign.
Luckily, there was a second part of the park, with hiking trails and a shooting range that was open!
We walked the trails until the mosquitoes became unbearable, which was a disappointingly short time after actually making it to a trail. = / But I did get some pictures.
Mossy log!
Can you find the chippunk?
A read heart leaf that I sent to the girls, since they didn't get to come this time.
I told William he should sit for a picture, but he didn't like the looks of the bench. So, he stood awkwardly instead. lol.
I do wish we could have seen the beach, but the trails were nice. You could hear the shooting range; it was so close!
