Marching Band Concert

To mark the end of the season, the marching band performed their music one last time in the auditorium.  Before the concert, they had the pancake dinner.*  William and Juliet were brave and caught their pancakes from afar, Grace and I walked up to the grill for ours, Alice wasn't feeling hungry, Emily was celebrating with the color guard at their end of 'year' banquet, and Billy hadn't yet made it to the school.

We caught Emily just long enough for a picture!

The guard was large enough this year that the freshmen were relegated to the balcony, because there was not enough room for all the guard on the stage! = 0

It was a nice, short show, with an introduction of each member of each grade** at the end.  Emily is sad that the season is over, but I think that the slower pace through the winter will be good for her!

later days

*last year, and usually, I believe, it is held at the end of summer band camp, but early ticket sales were not where they needed to be, so they cancelled it to be rescheduled at a later date.

**I will say that my expectation that Alice would be a band member all four years did have me feeling sad when he introduced the sophomore clarinets.  She didn't seem bothered at all by the road not taken though.
