Summer Camps

I've already mentioned that Alice went to school for forever, but Emily's freshman band camp overlapped with her final few days of school too! (Of course, the girls who were already in Holt went as long as Alice did!)

She was super happy when she finally got to bring home her flag with which to practice!

Juliet was happy to try it out too.

Starting the next week, the color guard started to meet twice a week.  They had 15 time slots up for grabs, M-F: 8-10, 2-4, or 6-8.  I had Emily mark everything except for the 6-8, but that was the one that was chosen. = ( So, each Tuesday and Thursday evening she goes to practice with just the color guard.

I think she's really enjoying it so far, and we're less than a month away from full band camp!  This week they are off because of the Fourth of July holiday, but they'll be back at it next week!

William did his summer camp through his old school.  It was a three week camp, but our family camping trip kept him from being able to attend the third week. For the first week, he overlapped with Alice's last week of school.

William's final week of camp, we had his friend Jacob over for the night.  It was an ideal set up, because they rode the bus home together and then back on the final day, which was a field trip day!

He enjoyed the camp, but I don't know that he was super sad that it ended. I think there was more sadness that he wasn't going to be able to hang out with his friends every day.

By the time the Grace and Juliet started camp Alice was finally finished for the year!  These pictures are buried in Grace's Woldumar post, but I wanted to include them in mine too, so you'll see them twice, and it is intentional! = )

Day one, a little bit of trepedation.

The trepidation was gone by day two.  = )

By day three, they were pros!

Day four started out rainy, but they had no fear.

Day five: a little tired, a little sad.

July is looking calmer and more relaxed, which will be a nice change of pace from Maycember and June!  Hoping that this summer lasts as long as possible!
