Impression 5, Again

Since Alice, Emily, and William were all still in school, the twins and I thought it would be a good time to head back to Impression 5.  With this visit, our membership has now been 'paid off.'  In that the number of tickets we've used, and the cost of the membership are now equal. So, every future visit will be 'free.'

We arrived just before 930, and there were already busses in the parking area.

We made a beeline for the bubble room, the water was being refilled for the day when we got to there, and was still warm as they played!  The girls got to play alone for 10 minutes or so before the groups made their way back.

They got to play long enough that they 'mastered' the bubble pull!  The bubbles would stay long enough for me to snap several pictures!

Once the field trips made it back to the bubble room, we went on to explore other areas, then paused for a very early lunch.  I think it was 1030. lol.

After lunch, we went to a 'pop-up' activity.  They were making dino footprints in air dry clay!

And some more dino drawings.

A tri-triceratops sticker!  The girls decided that they didn't want to have to fight all of the field trip kids anymore, and that we could come back another day.  When we got back to the car, Billy called to see if we wanted to have lunch.  So, we met him at Burger King.

Our final errand of the day was to stop at the ice cream shop to try and get Grace's sundae, but not only weren't they open, but they didn't even have her paper in the window next to the other schools!  This is our 'disappointment' picture.

It was a pretty relaxing day, and a nice first Friday of summer for the twins!

Memorial Day 2025

Our Memorial Day usually only entails grabbing the camping chairs and trekking the couple of blocks to the parade, but this year both Alice and Emily marched, but in two different parades!

The 8th graders in Potterville were invited to march with the band in their parade, so Emily and I were up and out the door for a 930 roll call.

Alice wasn't quite ready for her parade when we left, and I don't know where on earth we put her music binder. = (  So it was a tough morning.  I left her band polo and shorts out for her and sent a screenshot of the band director's email* to her and Billy. Billy ran up to Sarah's to get a flautist's music binder, but when I saw Alice in the parade, she was the *only* one out of uniform. = (

I am glad that Emily's parade was over and done with in enough time for the two of us to make it back to see Alice's parade here in the village!

One of the candies from the parade was a Bazooka gum! I haven't seen one of these in years, and they were old when I was young!!!

Since Alice has voluntarily ended her Band tenure, this was the beginning and end of an era.  If you haven't picked up on it so far, I'm a little sad about that. = (

So next year, it will just be Emily, but then the number should increase from there, since the twins start their musical journey this fall!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  Thankful to those who served and didn't return, as well as those who did!

*things were a little different this year, because the Holt parade was cancelled.  I joked with Alice, asking her if I were expecting members of the American Legion at her Cold War birthday party, because she bribed them with an invite if they cancelled the parade.

Return to Impression Five

A couple of Saturdays ago, Billy woke up and said, hey, do you want to go to Impression 5 today?  Of course, I said yes!  I told him that I wanted to buy a membership, since we were heading into summer, and it would be worth it for our family in only two visits!

This year they have an awesome dinosaur exhibit!  William's shirt matched with the sticker. = )

As you move around, the camera gives you a dino head! lol.

I'm pretty sure the snack area is new, so I took a picture for future reference.

14-year-old Emily recreating a picture of 7-year-old Emily. = )

2019

Even Alice enjoyed some of the exhibits!  The draw your own dinosaur, then scan it in and watch it appear on the screen was way cool!

This pole was 'whispering' to us.  I think everytime someone walked above us it pushed air down, but made it seem like a 'haunted' pole.

The vine liked Emily!

The mouth is always a favorite!

Taking older kids to Impressions 5 is a different experience to be sure, we told them not to leave the floor, and they all kind of explored on their own. Billy and I had time to build some creations!

Emily worked on the bridge.

Grace showed off the magnet creation, but I think Juliet helped with this too.

William came late to the party and didn't spend much time before we moved on.

Alice hiding her smile.

Making sure to replace it with a face of displeasure.

The bubbles were really foamy, and didn't work very well.

Playing with the new energy exhibits.

It was a busy day to be there, full of lots of families, and, surprisingly, a field trip?  But everyone enjoyed revisiting one of our favorite places!

Looking forward to a summer of 'free' visits.
